Our Story

Pinoy Pam’s Best started when Pamela Perez was a caregiver. She often provided for her patients much like a mother would care for her family. Her patients loved her, and she also offered some of the most delicious food they had ever tasted. They become a big part of her family and a big part of who Pamela is today. With the fulfillment of being a caregiver, there is also a loss that became hard for her to bear. Pam thought that she should follow a dream that she has had for a very long time. She would start a business and provide for the community much as she had provided for her family.

With a background in cooking and making desserts, she started cooking for the church and, little by little, made a name for herself. Following her heart’s desire and passion, she opened her restaurant inside Laguna Hills Mall Food court in April of 2009. However, in December of 2010, and after almost 3 years of renting the space and growing her business, mall management delivered the sad news that they would be remodeling the food court. This gave Pamela and the staff only a few week’s notices to pack up and find a new home for her thriving business. With a heavy heart and a whole family and crew counting on the company, they started to do an extensive hunt for a new location. They landed in Lake Forest, just a few blocks away from the popular destination known as the Laguna Hills Mall.

For more than a decade, Pinoy Pam’s Best grew from a small food court space catering home-cooked meals to a restaurant with a wide range of Asian specialty groceries. Many loyal customers say that more than just a restaurant and store, Pinoy Pam’s Best is a slice of home that brings back memories of the Philippines. For more than a decade now, Pam has realized her lifelong dream and is now a loving provider and sharer of culture to her entire community.
